Athens, GA is our home. Well, close enough. Our main office is located in Bishop, GA just off Highway 441 between Athens & Madison. Even though we travel all over the country, our roots are in Oconee County, GA. There are several projects we've worked on that called for structural shoring in and around Athens.

If you drove down Atlanta highway in 2024, you may have noticed the renovation at Athens Orthopedic Clinic. Southern Shoring installed the Post & Header system pictured to the right. As renovations were in progress, contractors used equipment that was in excess of what the floor was rated for. To provide the additional support needed, structural shoring was installed on each level of the parking garage, starting directly below the construction and going all the way to the ground floor.
Here we had to install slab supports for a multi-level development in order for construction equipment to access different areas of the site. This was a mixed use development, with stores at ground level, housing in the floors above, and a parking garage at the back of the site. Due to the space constraints, a temporary platform was needed, as well as structural reinforcement to the concrete slab. We installed structural shoring under the slab, and built a tower capable of supporting a 10K telehandler using road plates for a deck, complete with handrails.
